Two side plates cradle the phone in an angled notch, held apart by two cross bars that slot in from below. Set the lean, the width, and the thickness of your phone in its case; the notch and the joints adjust to match.

Measure it in its case. One millimetre of clearance is added for you.
Rounds the four corners of the slot the phone rests in, so nothing sharp digs into the case. 0 keeps them square.

Measure it with calipers. Sheets sold as 3 mm are often 2.7 to 3.2.
How much the beam burns away. Higher makes joints tighter. 0.10 to 0.20 suits most diode lasers.
